HOW 3D VINYL GETS YOUR MESSAGE ACROSS

The Single most important factor to consider in the creative process when constructing 3D props with air inflated vinyl is that there will be an exaggerated look.

As seen in the pictures below... objects, shapes and creatures will render with tremendous visual impact. Whereas a human likeness will not. In part this is because of the lack of a rigid substructure. Another factor to be cognizant of is the material itself. Creating props from vinyl substrate results in a finished look that tends towards a "cartoonish finish"

When working with this medium our most successful campaigns have accepted allowances for these characteristics and take into account some of the following:

1. Viewing Distance

Billboards are typically viewed from 200-400 yards. The images become increasingly more "real" at the longer distances.

2. Viewing Time

Billboards are typically viewed in a 2-3 second bursts, thus the audience is left with a big picture impression and not a detailed look.

3. Proof Viewing

To experience the full effect stand 3-4 ft away from your computer this will give you a more realistic viewing perspective.

In our experience over many years and projects, our clients find the trade off more than acceptable given that most of these executions constructed from foam or fiberglass are typically 80% more expensive and thus these spectacular campaigns would not be possible to execute.

There are definite pros and cons to our method, In summary, our sweet spots are:

  • 14x48 boards, bigger is better!

  • Cartoonish "characters" replicate better than a person.

  • Round is better than square.

  • Display life 8-10 months

Cost Effective 3D

Removes the barrier to entry for 3D billboards. Massive reduction on transportation cost, installation time is down to virtually zero for 3D vinyl.

Zero Install

3D vinyl allows the messaging to be moved around and between markets, keeping the messaging fresh and prioritizing clients productions budgets

Timing

Timing is crucial - you have to give us time. It takes approximately 7-8 weeks to go through the full process of creating the inflatable. You have a say throughout the whole process, where you can make changes and adjust. The only cost is time so keep that in mind with your posting schedule.

a walk through of our process:

  1. We take your creative or sketch to get you the quote.

  2. Then we move forward with the physical mini sculpture to map out how it should look 3D this is so we can get on the same page with the client. They can make as many changes as they want it wont cost anything but time on the project.

  3. Once the Mini Sculpture as been approved that’s when we move on to Air Sculpture. You can make as many changes as you would like at this step as well until we get it right and no cost but time on the project. You should always view the Air Sculpture as you would in the field take steps back from the screen.

  4. Once everything has been approved on your end we finish up and go through the process of attachment to the vinyl.

keep in mind it will be seen from a distance and at higher speeds.

To schedule your time wisely keep in mind it will take 7-8 weeks for the full process to be compete. Keep this in mind for the approval process on the sculpture and air sculpture.
